The Itch! Bitch

So here’s some tracks that I like just now and I’m feeeeelin’ reeeeeeel good so you can all have them all for free.

Hermanez – Plastic Confidence

Hermanez doing his rumbly bouncy punchy thing right here, this one’s doing well on beatport. Fuckin’ love this guy’s productions. This one’s out now on Kling Klong. You can peep the whole release here. The B side Grasso is pretty good too, as is the Hugo remix of Plastic Confidence. Real funky like. Also follow this link for a sweet mix.

Afternoon Coffee Boys – Riding The Edge (Camea Acid Remix)

Sweeeeeet grooves here. Kinda makes me feel like I’m at some bizarre beach party under the sea. Which is a good thing. Afternoon Coffee Boys are Tim Xavier and Tony Rhor. This is their first release together in 2 years and it’s definatley worth the wait. Check both parts of the original and full release info on the Clink website.

Martin Eyerer – Catweasel

This piece speaks for it’s self. Download this one if you do nothing else today. If you wanna try before you buy go here and listen from 3 mins 33 secs. YYEAAAAHHH!

MiniCoolBoyz – Bounce

Quite a crap name if you’re from Glasgow, probably a different story on the continent. I’m not in a position to comment to be honest so I’ll shut up about that. Out now on SCI+TEC, this track is just to my taste. Clicks, pings, swoops, whooshes, it just builds and builds… thenbefore you knwo what’s happened it faaades off til theres nothing left. Ahhhhh… beautiful. They have more songs too.

The New York Bum

One late night in the shady streets of new yoik, I was confronted by this piece. He was literally dribbling so much (proper watery mucas surrounding his beak) and telling me how I should get him into the hotel because he would “bone so many hunnies”.
Im up for booking him for one of the summer parties?

The Itch! Bitch

For a while i’ve wanted to do a post of tracks that I like to zone out to. Basically these are my favourite tracks just now that you couldn’t really play in a nightclub, but they’re perfect for 8am on sunday morning.

First off, there simply aren’t enough compliments in the world to describe Max Cooper. The man has a Phd and holds down a day job as a genetics researcher for University College London. He can literally do no wrong. In his time off from being some kind of superhero/genius/doctor hybrid, Max Cooper has produced some of the best techno and electronica tracks of the last 12 months. Choosing a song to post was no easy task, though being a post on my favourite chill out tracks i had to go with his beautiful remix of Au Revoir Simone’s Take Me As I Am. The original is a really nice piano track in itself, though Max Cooper has transformed it into a piece of electronica perfection. Enjoy.

Au Revoir Simone – Take Me As I Am (Max Cooper Remix)

Should Have Taken Acid With You, a great track by psychedelic indie kings Neon Indian, has been given a once over by Chicago’s Future Rock. Trippy. Dreamy. Get it in your itunes you lucky thing you.

Neon Indian – Should Have Taken Acid With You (Future Rock Remix)

Prior to their move to Hyperdub, way back in 2007, Darkstar released the outstanding ‘Dead 2 Me/Break’ on the 2010 imprint. B-side Break is a great example of really dark, chilled out dubstep, it’s a really stunning track with layered synths and cleverly chopped up samples. If your in Glasgow on the 16th Feb, definitely make sure you catch their live performance in Nice n Sleazy.

So, turns out some time in 2007 ANDREW WK interviewed the one and only Lee “Scratch” Perry. Hilarious times ensue? You’d think so but not really. Skip to 1 min 55.
