Not Sunday. Not even Monday anymore. BUT that doesn’t mean we can’t have a Sunday Selection, does it?! No. It doesn’t.
Here’s the latest installment of this dub ting I’ve been putting out. Yes, it’s supposed to monthly. No, there wasn’t one last month. Don’t judge. Just enjoy. Hazy and lazy.
And there will be an other before the month is over, nah worry!
In other reggae-related news, Chungo-Bungo‘s first dance of 2011 is on! It’s all day. It’s outside. It’s 23.07.2011 .
We’ve got King’s Hi-Fi selector Don Zebby coming to visit and he’s joined by the original rasta MC and SW9 legend Brother Culture – who’ll you’ll know from a few of our dubplates (see below for a treat) amongst other tings.
As well as all this we’ll have the B.A.S.S rig bringing the sound, the full CB crew bringing the riddims and a BBQ brining the scran. All you gotta do is bring youself to The Courtyard from 3pm on Saturday 23.07.2011. Follow the links below for full info and tickets. These are selling fast so click now to avoid disappointment!
And here’s a fresh dubplate from Brother Cuture too:
Also just read the post below for the first time since I wrote it. Musta been too hazy to keep you posted about that food situation. Sorry about that. If it makes you feel any better it was probably really tasty. And probably looked a lot like this.
Anyway, I’ve got my hard drive fixed so there should be more content up here soon. Don’t hold your breath though. You know us itch boys like getting hazy, ahahaha.

today i had a check-out-off with some wise-assed broad in Tesco. Bitches be thinkin’ they all fly n shit.
so this honey was behind me in the self-service checkout queue, but she thought she was all smart n shit and left it for the people operated tills.
i could see her eyeballin’ me all smug n shit thinkin “man that dopey assed son of a bitch. i’m well makin my way for the exit before this cat’s gettin his messages.”
but nah. i knew that weren’t happenin. i could see the chinese man-on-a-mission in front of me was gonna self serve his way through those groceries like nobodies. so it was on. this was a 2 G race, and there was no way i was lettin’ some broad beat me to the check out.
as fate would have it. chinese dude followed through and pulled out a record breakin’ self serving and i swiftly slipped into the check out like a champ. i swaggered out that Tesco looking like the most smug dawg this side of the Clyde. honey looked pissed. so you should sugar, don’t fuck wit Arnold. bitches be gettin’ disciplined…..
As per. Gnarls and Chungo have been running all over the interweb. We’re literally exhausted, reporting back to HQ with our findings.
i ain’t no fashionista (though this was already more than obvious), but i’ve fallen in love.
Anyhows, seen as Jamie Roberts AKA Blawan, London based producer with releases on R&S and Hessle Audio seems incapable of doing any wrong just now a mention seemed only appropriate. His recent track Getting Me Down has been an essential ingredient of DJ sets and mixes alike over the past few weeks and missing his set at the Subclub recently was nothing short of an epic guttor. yeah that’s right, in true journalistic flare, we shall describe this misdemeanor as a guttor. Here’s his 2010 remix of The Hundred In The Hands – Pigeons, it’s a belter (there we go again showing off our extensive vocabulary, so profesh).
Bristol based Hyetal is another one of our favourite producers just now. Having released on Bristol based Punch Drunk label, home to recent Itch! guest Kahn alongside the Peverlist, as well as boasting a string of high quality solo releases. This up and coming producer is one to watch out for this summer. Check out the Fantastic Mr Fox Remix of his track Phoenix.
You can also listen to the original here:
In other news, we took some time the other day to try and work out exactly which Harry Potter movie is the one where it’s ok to start fancying Hermione without feeling guilty.
Turns out you really don’t want to know.

Saturday 25th June…get it your diaries, this will be a biggie. We’ve none other than Crosstown Rebels and Hot Creations superstar Russ Yallop coming to take over the turntables. If you haven’t had a chance to check him out yet then scope out this mix. It’s something special (it’s also a free download!).
We’re holding the party in the back room of The Saint (formerly Mamasan) on Bath St, 11pm – 3am. We’re gonna be going to town on the venue so it’s gonna look like you’ve never seen it before!! (so much so that it deserved two whole exclamation marks) Tickets are £5 from Tickets Scotland (£7 on the door) and are available here: Itch! with Russ Yallop, or in person at Tickets Scotland, Argyll St.
If you haven’t had a chance to check out these tunes of his yet then get them scoped…
Also on the bill we have rising superstar Dave Cuthbertson travelling up from Manchester to provide support (both emotionally, and on the turntables, Dave’s a multitalented man like that). Check out his top notch productions on soundcloud:
Itch honcho Heerah will also be at hand to warm up the crowd, fresh from his soul searching sabbatical to the big apple. We know fine well he’s really over there spending all his hard earned holiday pennies on freshly pressed records all the way from the states so expect something special.
Check out the facebook event here: Itch! with Russ Yallop
Peace and Love

Our boy Bazmatron AKA Billy Hologram has put together a sweet mix worthy of much love, its an eclectic hour long journey through house, techno, funky and garage. Some pretty dark sounds in there! get it on your ipod.
And while you’re at it. Get this one downloaded as well. We’ve got mad love for Nicki Minaj here at Itch HQ, i reckon this is my favourite track of hers so far:
Keep your eyes peeled for deets on our next party in June!
